SAMOA  REPORTS

Report No:     49-06

Period:             Monday 4th to Sunday 10th December 2006

Weather this week has been very hot with the odd tropical shower at some point on most days.

MONDAY   HIGH TIDE – 6.08am, LOW TIDE – 12.00pm.  With the swell in the head high range from the SSW Wakas was the choice. Bit average for the spot due to much west in the wind but some fun waves in good conditions. Surfed from 7.00 to 9.15.

TUESDAY   HIGH TIDE – 7.00am, LOW TIDE – 12.47 pm.  The swell had picked up the previous afternoon and the call for Boulders was spot on. Some sets were double overhead with light north winds most of the day. This made for perfect conditions and of course great waves. Surfed from 8.00 to 1.00.

WEDNESDAY   HIGH TIDE – 7.48am, LOW TIDE – 1.38pm.  Wakas was the pick today on this SE swell even though it had backed off a little. They still had great conditions with waves head high and a few bigger, with clean workable walls but not too many barrels. Surfed from 7.15 to 10.30.

THURSDAY   HIGH TIDE – 8.40am, LOW TIDE – 2.31pm.  A further drop off in the swell resulted in some clean peaks out the front at Resorts about chest to shoulder high. Good fun waves with a lot of choice – like a beach break on a reef with different peaks. Surfed from 7.30 to 10.30.

FRIDAY   HIGH TIDE – 9.33am, LOW TIDE – 3.27pm.  Same conditions as yesterday as was the location out at Resorts again, with nice workable peaks with the odd barrel thrown in.  Surfed from 7.30 to 11.00.

SATURDAY   HIGH TIDE – 10.30am, LOW TIDE – 4.23pm.  A pulse in the swell saw some bigger sets up to overhead, with a west wind which is a little side shore. They had all the surfing guests leaving today so there was no surf trip, but it was potentially a good day for a couple of breaks, namely Barras and Special K which they haven’t surfed in a while.

SUNDAY HIGH TIDE – 11.30am, LOW TIDE – 5.21pm. The swell had dropped a little and the wind was up from SE, by 10.00am it was blowing hard so nothing much of quality today. R&R day.
