‘Tide turns in Favour for Festival’.
The Noosa Malibu Club is pleased to announce the major participation of
Global Surf Industries as the primary partner in the 2007 Noosa Festival of
Surfing, together with the support of APN News & Media.
The Festival, beginning March 5, 2007 is now a week long celebration of
Longboarding, Stand Up Paddleboarding, Music, Film and Surf Culture.
Mark Kelly, the Managing Director of Global Surf Industries, said “We hold
the Noosa Festival of Surfing in high regard; it fits really well with our
company mantra - Life is better when you surf”.
“Everyone at Global Surf Industries sees it as a wonderful opportunity for
us to be involved, and our aim is to elevate the Noosa Festival of Surfing
to a new level of enjoyment for the competitors, spectators and for everyone
that loves to surf."
Global Surf Industries intends operating their entire company out of Noosa
Heads for the week, bringing in their surfboard designers and team riders,
plus unveiling some of their great new designs for the 2008 season.
Darryl Olson, the Regional General Manager (Sunshine Coast) of APN News and
Media, has also firmly backed the Noosa Festival of Surfing through the very
generous support of the "Sunshine Coast Daily", and the regional papers such
as the "Noosa News".
Darryl, and the Assistant Editor of the Sunshine Coast Daily, Bill Hoffman,
are both keen surfers themselves, and are confident the Noosa Festival of
Surfing will reach new heights in 2007 and beyond.
Norm Innis, the President of the Noosa Malibu Club, said “The whole club is
overwhelmed with the support we have received for the Noosa Festival of
Surfing. The event is a truly international one with competitors coming from
all over the globe”.
“Global Surf Industries is perfectly suited as our major presenting sponsor
and the Sunshine Coast Daily has been right behind us from the beginning”,
said Mr. Innis.
“It is great to find core surfing people in all walks of life, and all kinds
of businesses, prepared to get behind an event such as ours", said Norm.
In addition to the primary sponsors, the Noosa Festival of Surfing will also
feature the Odyssey 20/20 Men's Pro Longboard, and the Golden Breed
Noserider.
Norm Innis said, "It's great to welcome Odyssey 20/20 sunglasses to the
Noosa Festival of Surfing. Jim Lazarides, the Founder/Designer, has been a
long time friend of mine, and his support for surfing backs up the core
nature of his product line and his commitment to surfing. Similarly, Nick
van de Merwe, the Managing Director of Golden Breed, has been a great backer
of the Noserider event, and longboarding in general, for many years."
Of course, an event of the magnitude of the Noosa Festival of Surfing can
not be conducted without the support of many organisations and businesses.
For 2007, the Noosa Malibu Club is proud to announce event partners:
Queensland Events, Tourism Noosa, ASP Australasia, Surfing Australia,
Coastalwatch, Classic Malibu, Noosa Longboards, John Madill, Warren Evans,
Finch Swimwear, the Noosa Heads SLSC, Cafe Le Monde, the Sheraton Resort
Noosa, Noosa Crest, along with the many other accommodation outlets, and
local businesses, that all help to make the Noosa Festival of Surfing as
good as it can be." |
