Back Beach again and the
surf is looking much the same at 1.5-2ft. There is no wind to speak of so
the surf is almost looking fun - especially for the groms. And that is what
is out there today. The schedule goes a little like this (don't quote me on
it). Under 16s round 1 heat 4. Under 14 boys semis, Under 16 boys quarters,
under 18 boys round 1 heats 3 and 5, open longboard round 1, Womens
longboard round 1, open longboard quarters. Swell map suggests the waves
will start to pick up from midday paking early tomorrow morning. If this is
the case we hope to run the open mens somewhere down the coast tomorrow.
The first finalists of the Hyundai National Champs have just been found.
The Breakers under 14 boys finalists are Dune Kennings and Fintan Cram from
Whanga, Tane Wallis of Piha and Patxi Scott-Arreita from Whangarei.
