Today the comp is at Stent Rd and the sets are firing
with a few lulls here and there. The Hyundai Open Men are getting their day
in the sun today and it is set to be a huge one with the junior quarters and
senior men also ready to hit the water.
Early standouts have been Chris Millett who scored over 14 points leaving
the water with 6 minutes in his heat. Local boy Jason Lellman won his heat
as he should at his home break. Mike Banks of Raglan whaled his heat
busting some big backhand turns as did fellow Raglan surfers Dave Van Staden
and Keirin Van Der helder who is fresh back from Aussie. The Dunnos boys
have been going strong with Luke Murphy, Felix Dickson and Lynden Hutton all
making it through to the next round.
