SAMOA  REPORTS

Report No:     52-06

Period:             Monday 25th to Sunday 31st December 2006

Weather for this week has been mixed again. Days starting out clear and sunny then heavy rain at some stage clearing again.

MONDAY   HIGH TIDE – 10.50am, LOW TIDE – 4.53pm  A head high south swell with light winds in the morning so straight to Coco’s  which had good waves with a couple of surprise bombs. The crew then moved around to Wakas where there were clean fun waves but dropping in consistency. Surfed from 9.00 to 10.30 at Coco’s then 11.30 to 2.30 at Wakas.                     .

TUESDAY   HIGH TIDE – 11.56am, LOW TIDE – 6.00pm. With the swell holding and the wind forecast light Ytops was the destination. Great waves all session up to head high, with some long walls and the odd barrel on the inside. A fun day with all guests getting a good share of the waves. Surfed from 9.30 to 2.00.

WEDNESDAY HIGH TIDE – 1.00pm, LOW TIDE – 6.26AM. The swell totally disappeared overnight so the crew opted for no surfing day, R&R and feasting.

THURSDAY   HIGH TIDE – 2.00pm, LOW TIDE – 7.30am.  A swell started coming from the east to north east so they hit the northside and checked Tiavea and found some shoulder high waves at The Rivermouth with the rights being the better waves. A little side shore, so not perfect.  Surfed from 12.30 to 3.00.

FRIDAY  HIGH TIDE – 2.53pm, LOW TIDE – 8.30am. Mirror image of Thursday so back to Tiavea.  The swell was a little lumpy and this made the take off quite difficult and the overall quality a bit average.  The lefts at The Rivermouth were the better waves today.  Surfed from 12.00 to 2.30.

SATURDAY   HIGH TIDE – 3.45pm, LOW TIDE – 9.25am   The swell turned SW up to shoulder high and with strong SE winds Pebbles was the only option, with a couple of good inside waves. Long wait for the sets and not up to the normal high standard but still fun. Surfed from 2.00 to 5.00.

                                                                                       .

SUNDAY  HIGH TIDE – 4.37pm, LOW TIDE – 10.15am. The swell did the Houdini and dropped overnight and with the wind a strong SE so no surfing today, more R&R and feasting.
