Joe Schwarz led the University of the Sunshine Coast to victory in the Tag Teams Challenge on the final day of the Australian University Games Surfing. Twenty minutes after winning the blue ribbon Mens Shortboard division Schwarz turned his best ride in the Team Challenge, an 8.25 into his double whammy score to steal victory from the University of Wollongong who had been favorites to win.

The small surf on hand just south of the artificial reef at Narrowneck on the Gold Coast for the final two days of competition didn't hinder the scoring with rides scoring in the high 7's and 8's with the occasional 9.

Other standouts included Lisa Blackmoore (Griffith Uni) who won the womens shortboard and showed her versatility to finish runner-up in the women's body board and Rosie Locke (Griffith Uni) who was runner-up in the open longboard and open kneeboard.
