SAMOA  REPORTS

Period:              Monday 23rd to Sunday 29th 07

MONDAY  LOW TIDE 6:25am HIGH TIDE 12:48pm   Saw a nice ESE swell about head high. The crew surfed The Rivermouth, clean & fun lefts and rights with the rights the better option. The occasional barrel but mainly just walls for doing turns. Surfed 9:00 till 12:00

TUESDAY  Swell head High with light variable winds – No surfing guests today so no surf trip

WEDNESDAY   LOW TIDE 8:31am HIGH TIDE 2:46pm  With the swell SE head to double over head and  light easterly winds Boulders was the spot 8:45am till 11:00, nice and clean but a bit inconsistent. Good for turns but no barrels. They surfed Wakas on the way back @ a good size, super clean, uncrowded and great shape. Lots of barrels – just about perfect Wakas. Surfed 11:30 to 3:30.

Matt at Wakas

THURSDAY   LOW TIDE 9:19am HGH TIDE 3:31pm   Head to double over head SE swell & wind light offshore in the morning picking up to SE 15kts about midday. Early boat trip to Wakas with good waves early before the tide got low. Still surfed it on the low tide but bit sketchy with the inside reef exposed at times. Had to be cautious and selective, still fun however. Surfed from 6:30am till midday. Then went to pretty solid & heavy waves @ The Island.  A lot more size than Wakas with some nice waves but plenty of floggings so had to be selective. Surfed 1:00pm to 4:00pm

A nice empty one at The Island

FRIDAY   LOW TIDE 10:00am HIGH TIDE 4:11pm   The Outside Peak @ Pebbles was the spot early with a SE swell  head to head and a half, wind light early then up from the SE 15kts at midday. Nice and clean with only 4 surfers. Some fun waves before the tide dropped out and it got less consistent. Hung on the boat through low tide then surfed at Pebbles after lunch. There were a few little waves through Pebbles hollow section which was offshore and some cross shore waves out the back peak. The wind died down late & some of the crew had OK waves at Wakas for about an hour.

SATURDAY     LOW TIDE 10:34am HIGH TIDE 4:45 pm  Split trips today. First one by boat early to Wakas with some fun clean little waves to about head high. Surfed 6:30 till 10:00am. Then arvo session at Pebbles, with the wind a strong SE, so only the end section surfable. A few OK waves and was getting better as they were leaving. The other crew went to The Rivermouth for the day with morning and arvo sessions in some fun waves to about head high.

SUNDAY  Low Tide 11:07am High Tide 4:57am  Big lift in the swell over night, double to triple over head from the SSE with the wind moderate SE so the only really surfable spot was Boulders with everywhere else big and wind affected. Boulders was pretty good with solid sets, with some good walls and the occasional barrel. Surfed 7:15 to 12:30
