day started pretty well, with a light, but fairly cool breeze

soon became a bit stiffer and a lot cooler

T'was a brisk
wind tugging at the yard-arm (felt like a wind-chill factor of around 10
degrees, but was probably around 21-22)

decreased and became more choppy as the wind swund in from the sou-east
